It’s here! From Brooklyn’s Biquette and New York’s historic knitting mill, Mineola Knit Co., Biquette’s premium blankets celebrate artists and children in the coziest way possible.
“Play & Grow,” designed by New York artist Erin Jang, is knit to order in three colorways and the softest organic cotton, and can be personalized with a child’s name for no additional charge! Crib-sized, these beautiful blankets work just as well on the floor as a playmat, on the go in the stroller, or as a picnic base on the grass. Biquette is donating 10% from the sale of each “Play & Grow” blanket to our work for children.
Biquette co-founder and creative director Amelie Mancini – a Brooklyn-based painter and textile artist – supported the idea of a blanket that benefits children from the start. “At Biquette we’re always looking for ways to support our communities, whether it’s the arts and design community or our local New York community. We were thrilled for the opportunity to collaborate with the Steve Nash Foundation and be a small part of their on-going initiatives in Brooklyn. And of course we jumped at the chance to work with Erin Jang, whose work we had been admiring for a long time!”
“I was inspired to create a design that would feature the first shapes that a child learns to identify as they play and grow: a heart, a star, a flower, a leaf, the shape of their favorite building blocks and the reflection of their own smiling face,” says Erin. “The Foundation does such critical work for underserved children and families. Their commitment to helping kids with their education, health, and personal growth is so meaningful to see, and I’m happy to be able to support their work in some small way.” See more of Erin’s work at the Indigo Bunting.
