Richmond Secondary’s Global Perspectives

Watch here as the students from Richmond Secondary’s Global Perspectives class as they take on their community service project in Concepcion!

Global Perspectives 12 at Richmond Secondary School is in its 15th year, and has completed projects all over the world. The first of its kind in Canada, Global Perspectives has guided students in developing a greater, more intimate understanding of our world.  In March 2009, in a great service to/cooperation with the Steve Nash Foundation, 28 students, a 6 person dental team and 5 teachers have undertaken the construction of an extension onto the Child Well-Being Centre (Centro de Bienestar Infantil) in Concepcion, Paraguay.  In addition to their hands-on work in the region, Global Perspectives raised $10,000 for the Steve Nash Foundation’s latest endeavor, a precancer screening and treatment clinic to benefit young women just outside Paraguay’s capital.  To read more about what Global Perspectives does check out globalperspectivescanada.com
